Perform 20-30% water changes every 1-2 weeks. Monitor for common cichlid diseases like Ich (white spot disease) and bloating.

They enjoy, and often rearrange, sandy or fine gravel substrate and need multiple hiding spots (rock piles, caves, driftwood).

Diet

Offer high-quality cichlid pellets or flakes as a stable diet. They also enjoy a supplement with frozen or live foods, including bloodworms, brine shrimp. They can be fed fresh vegetables like peas and spinach.

Temperament & Tank mates

they are generally peaceful, but they can become aggressive and territorial when breeding. They can be grouped with Medium-sized tetras, Barbs, and peaceful cichlids, such as larger tetras or Corydoras. Avoid Small, timid fish and highly aggressive cichlids that could harm them.
