Substrate & Plants: Bettas are territorial and enjoy hiding, so provide live or silk plants, caves, driftwood, and other decorations to create visual barriers and reduce stress. Avoid sharp plastic plants that can tear fins. Proper lighting with a day-night cycle helps regulate their biological clock.
Diet: A varied diet is essential. Feed high-quality Betta pellets as the staple, supplemented with live, frozen, or freeze-dried foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, or bloodworms. Feed small amounts 1–2 times daily, ensuring they consume all food within a few minutes to prevent water contamination.
Female bettas are less aggressive than males but still establish hierarchies and territories, They can coexist with other females or peaceful community fish of similar size, but aggressive individuals should be separated. Unlike males, females rarely build bubble nests, though a territorial female may occasionally create a small one.
